Surprise taking arts grants applications

The city of Surprise is accepting applications for an Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission-led grant program to assist community organizations pursuing arts and cultural events or activities that benefit Surprise residents.

The Commission set aside up to $30,000 for fiscal year 2023 for the Arts and Culture Grant Program to support qualified local programs and events and to further the Commission’s mission to spur cultural growth in Surprise. The application, program details, and eligibility requirements are available at surpriseaz.gov/artsgrant.

To be considered, applicants must be a 501(c)3 organization or partner with a 501(c)3 verified agency.

According to program guidelines, funds are distributed by reimbursement through an invoice process. The disbursement of funds is subject to final approval by the Surprise City Council. All funding decisions made by the City Council are final.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 21. It is preferred that completed applications be emailed to Danielle Osborne at danielle.osborne@surpriseaz.gov. If an email is not possible, applications can be mailed to Human Service and Community Vitality, Attention: Danielle Osborne, City of Surprise, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza, Surprise, AZ 85374.

A pre-application meeting that will include information about the program and the application process will be held at 2 p.m Wednesday, March 29 via Webex. Registration is required.
