The city of Surprise offers a variety of services, programs and resources for our 50-and-over community, including the Surprise Senior Center for active independent adults and independent adults with disabilities.

Those who haven’t tried the senior center now have a chance to take advantage of a free dual membership through Dec. 31 for all new individuals, regardless of residency.

This membership level includes full access to the fitness room as well as daily activities, programs, open gaming and special events. Necessary paperwork is required.

The Surprise Senior Center is strategically designed for active adults 50 or better and independent adults with disabilities. The center provides social connections through various offerings, including wellness programs, fitness classes, enrichment classes, recreational programs, creative arts, community involvement and an in-person congregate meal program.

For those wanting to maintain their membership beyond the free trial, a one-year membership renewal will begin on Jan. 2.

Annual membership dues, regardless of residency:

  • Senior Center: $5
  • Fitness Room Only: $10
  • Dual Membership (Both Senior Center & Fitness Room): $12
