The Surprise Human Service and Community Vitality Department is looking for volunteers for its next day of service event on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at St. Mary’s Food Bank.

Surprise seeks volunteers for day of service

The Surprise Human Service and Community Vitality Department is looking for volunteers for its next day of service event on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at St. Mary’s Food Bank.

Volunteers will assist with sorting bulk food items, creating food baskets and loading food into vehicles, helping in the process of providing food for families in need.

St. Mary’s Food Bank is at 13050 W. Elm St. 

There are three shifts to choose from: 7:30 to 10 a.m., 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. or noon to 2:30 p.m.

Individuals and groups can register with Larry Garcia at Larry.Garcia@surpriseaz.gov or 623-222-1522.

Groups are asked submit a group name and estimated number of volunteers, which is limited to no more than 10 people per group.

Those who cannot make this volunteer event have other upcoming opportunities:

  • Saturday, March 11 – Citywide Day of Service
  • Saturday, April 22 – Bean Bag Day
