The Surprise Human Service and Community Vitality department reminds Surprise and El Mirage residents that rent, eviction prevention and utility assistance programs are available for income eligible applicants at the Surprise Resource Center, 12425 W. Bell Road, Suite 124.

Through partnerships with multiple community-based organizations and government agencies, the Surprise Resource Center is able to provide veteran, disability and social services such as rent, employment and healthcare assistance, as well as food and nutrition resources.

Specifically, the Community Action Program provides limited temporary assistance with utility and eviction prevention for qualifying Surprise and El Mirage residents thanks to partnerships between Maricopa County, Surprise and El Mirage.

Funding is limited and not guaranteed. Must meet eligibility requirements.

Residents can begin the pre-screening process by either of the following:

• Residents can complete a pre-screening through the Maricopa County online portal here.

• For those needing assistance online, contact the HOPELINE at 623-222-4673

• Walk-ins are accepted to pick up applications and drop off completed applications with documents.

Residents who are experiencing unexpected financial hardships are encouraged to view available programs and eligibility requirements at surpriseaz.gov/resourcecenter.
