Plans are now firmed up for the return of the city of Surprise’s fireworks celebration.

The 38th Annual 4th of July Celebration is set for 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 4 at Mark Coronado Park, 15850 N. Bullard Ave.

The 4th of July Celebration will feature live music by Steven P and Music II Music, as well as a variety of food trucks. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the night will conclude with a fireworks display at approximately 8:40 p.m. Event admission is free with a canned food donation.

The following items will not be allowed in the park: glass bottles, alcoholic beverages, barbeques, or fireworks; tents must be weighted (no stakes).

Those who would rather stay cool in a pool can attend the 4th of July Pool Party at the Surprise Aquatic Center, 15831 N. Bullard Ave., from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Guests will be able to stay and enjoy the city’s fireworks display from the Aquatic Center. However, swimming will not be permitted after 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $6 per person and are on sale now at the Parks and Recreation Office and at the Surprise Aquatic Center. Tickets may also be purchased online at surpriserec.surpriseaz.gov under “Special Events.”
