With the Surprise Fiesta Grande moving to Mark Coronado Park this year, the city is offering a free shuttle service for residents of the Original Town Site, the traditional location of the festival.

Surprise offering free festival shuttles for OTS residents

Fiesta Grande moving to Mark Coronado Park this year

With the Surprise Fiesta Grande moving to Mark Coronado Park this year, the city is offering a free shuttle service for residents of the Original Town Site, the traditional location of the festival.

Shuttles will pick up from the parking lot at the Villanueva Recreation Center for the Saturday, Oct. 7 event starting at 4:45 p.m. and will run approximately every 30 minutes until 7:45 p.m.

The last drop off will leave the event at 9:15 p.m.

Mark Coronado Park is adjacent to the City Center at 15960 N. Bullard Ave.

The family-friendly event, presented by Felix Construction, celebrates Surprise's unique history, culture, traditions and community.

It will include an evening of live music, food, dancing, classic cars and fireworks.

For the safety of pedestrians and attendees, there will be road closures in place from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Oct. 7.

The closures are the following:

  • Northbound Bullard Avenue from Tierra Buena to Paradise Lane
  • Southbound Bullard from Paradise to Buck O’Neil Way
  • A portion of Buck O’Neil will also be closed

The Surprise Fiesta Grande entertainment lineup will include live musical performances, lucha libre wrestling show times and a short fireworks display.

Main Stage:

  • 5 to 6 p.m. -- Tradiciones Dance Company
  • 6 p.m. -- Mayor’s Welcome
  • 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.  -- Latinos De Alma
  • 7:45 to 9 p.m. -- Rhythm Express

Roaming Entertainment:

  • 5 to 9 p.m. -- Mariachi Del Monte

Lucha Libre Show Times:

  • 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Fiesta Fireworks Display:

  • 7:30 to 7:35 p.m.

Other attractions and activities include a classic car show, a free kids’ play zone, a piñata plaza, a vendor village, festive beverages and food truck options.
