Surprise has commission opening

Vets, disability group needs volunteer to finish term

There’s an opening on the Surprise Veterans, Disability and Human Services Commission, and the city is looking for a volunteer to help out.

The city is accepting applications from any interested Surprise resident.

The vacancy comes with a term that runs through June 30 2022.

Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in the City Hall Council Chambers, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.

The 11-member commission is required to be comprised of volunteer members representing veterans, their family members or someone representing a veteran service organization, members representing those with disabilities and/or programs that support our special needs communities and those representing the social/human services sectors.

Applications are available at surpriseaz.gov/boards.

Submit applications at the City Clerk’s Office in person by appointment or at clerk@surpriseaz.gov.

The city has applications for all boards and commissions and keeps them on file for future vacancies.
