The Surprise City Council's budget retreat on Friday, March 27 has been moved to Council Chambers at City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.
It had originally been scheduled to be held on the Ottawa University Arizona campus.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, city officials have closed the retreat to public attendance. However, the public can view it live at surpriseaz.gov/surpriseTV.
Limited in-room city staff will join the city council as they continue the development of the Fiscal Year 2021 recommended city manager’s budget. City directors will phone in to the retreat if needed to answer questions.
The televised retreat is expected to go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a lunch break approximately between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The recommmended budget is scheduled to be revealed in April. Final budget adoption comes in June.
