Highland Prep senior Marcel Pratt is currently the fastest in the state, holding the top spot in the 300-meter hurdles with a record-breaking time of 38.85 seconds.

This achievement comes on the heels of Pratt’s outstanding performances in the team’s last two meets, where he not only broke the school record but also secured first place in the 300 hurdles.

The Highland Prep track team is also experiencing a remarkable season, with athletes setting new personal records in 52 different events. In their first two meets alone, the team has broken an impressive eight school records.

These record-breaking achievements include standout performances from Kylie Purcell in the 200 meters, Mercy Biyi-Daniel’s in the 300-meter hurdles, and several relay teams, including the boys 4x400-meter and girls 4x800-meter and 4x100-meter relays.

“Pratt’s remarkable achievement is a testament to his hard work and dedication, as well as the team’s overall commitment to excellence,“ the school wrote in a news release.

Highland Prep is a STEM-focused college-preparatory high school located at 15600 W. Hearn Road.
