Surprise-based Conscious Creations Art Studio is hosting its annual mixed-media art retreat entitled “These Are My People” May 25 to 29 at the Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree.

Conscious Creations Art Studio and its founder Karen Izzi have mindfully created a mixed media art retreat that will uplift, encourage, provide joy, and celebrate each attendees’ artistic gifts.

Izzi stated she has invited some of her most creative friends to present and share their art techniques at the retreat.

Workshops, music, desert walks, labyrinth walks, art materials, and a wide variety of art techniques will be explored. This is a nonprofit event.

The retreat also offers:

• Meditation and gentle yoga
• Renewal and healing
• Adventures in mixed media
• Ways to make a journal
• Group activities
• Mixed media techniques and workshops
• Swimming

Izzi is a metaphysician, mixed media artist, caregiver, educator, potter, former stylist and poet. She is an advocate for nature, the equality of all people and animals.

Izzi founded Conscious Creations Art Studio in 2012, on a mission to support and promote other artists and writers in the community. Izzi is a Certified Alzheimer’s Caregiver. She is a member of several botanical gardens, SAQA, NCECA, Arizona Art Alliance and the American Art Therapy Association.

Per person rates are as follows:

• Single Occupancy/All Meals $1,150 (for those who like their own space).
• Double Occupancy/All Meals $990 (specify if you have a roommate in mind).
• Retreat without Lodging $950.
