My Appliance Guy earns $25,000 for truck

Surprise’s My Appliance Guy has been awarded a $25,000 grant as part of Progressive Insurance’s Driving Small Business Forward grant program in support of Hispanic entrepreneurs.

Hispanic entrepreneurs launch more businesses per capita than any other group in the U.S., but struggle to get traditional loans and navigate other obstacles according to a recent report from McKinsey & Company.

My Appliance Guy LLC will use the funds to purchase a commercial vehicle to support their small business.

My Appliance Guy was founded 10 years ago with the goal of providing high-quality, in-home appliance repair to the Valley at a fair price to its customers, especially those in local retirement communities who are on fixed incomes. Mario Rodarte, the owner and operator of Appliance Guy, also provides services free of charge to the families of fallen law enforcement officers in the area.

My Appliance Guy will use the funds to purchase a fuel-efficient work truck, allowing them to continue to provide their customers with a first-class experience. With inflation and fuel costs continuing to rise, this will not only allow the business to continue to operate and grow, but will ensure their customers continue to receive a fair price as My Appliance Guy serves lower or fixed income communities.
