Sun Health hires McCaskill
New VP to work on legal affairs for nonprofit
Posted
West Valley nonprofit Sun Health has named Randy A. McCaskill, as vice president of legal affairs, responsible for working with the organization’s executive leadership team, providing advice on a variety of legal matters and overseeing the assignment of outside legal counsel.
McCaskill last worked for Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc., as chief legal counsel and compliance officer for the $2 billion global chemical manufacturer of fertilizers, pesticides, mining, industrial, and water treatment products with subsidiaries that engineer, fabricate, and construct chemical and hydrocarbon refining plants throughout the world.
At Sun Health, Randy’s responsibilities as VP of legal affairs will include working closely with the corporate compliance oversight committee in order to maintain compliance programs and training as well as ensure compliance with internal controls, statutory requirements and other regulatory agencies. He will also manage relationships with external counsel for litigation.
“As Sun Health continues to expand to meet the needs of those we serve, including our Sun Health Foundation donors and those we support at Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers, the residents who live in our three Sun Health communities and the members of Sun Health At Home, the community at large who utilize our wellness services, and our more than 700 team members, having an in-house legal counsel was a logical step to ensure continuity, compliance and responsiveness for our organization today and in the future,” said Joe La Rue, chief executive officer of Sun Health, in a news release. “Randy brings a wealth of knowledge to this role with a background that includes healthcare, human resource practices, risk management and a focus on institutional transformation, which matches perfectly with our strategic plans for the next decade.”
In 2004, McCaskill graduated University Washington Law School, cum laude, and received a doctorate degree in Western American and Environmental History.
He received his bachelor of arts degree from Arizona State University in 1999 and is actively involved in several legal and community organizations, and serves on the board of directors for H&H Music Group, Inc., a music royalty service provider for songwriters and producers.
