Sun Health Foundation 5K raises $31,000

Royal Doo-Wops among teams at Surprise Stadium

Posted

More than 180 people of all ages crossed the finish line during Sun Health Foundation’s 5K Walk/Run for Women’s Health in support of healthier women and a stronger community on Sunday, Sept. 26, at Surprise Stadium.

Sun Health thanks the participants, sponsors, supporters and vendors for joining us at this feel-good event.

Together, more than $31,000 was raised for the benefit of healthcare and wellness programs through the Generosity for Generations Campaign.

The morning included celebrating, cheering, and even dancing. Individuals and teams participated by walking, running, and riding in strollers or wagons. Some got creative with athletic wear.

One team, the Royal Doo-Wops, dressed in poodle skirts and even Spiderman made an appearance. Sun Health’s Sunny’s Food truck and vendors provided healthy snacks and wellness resources. A drawing for a wellness basket also was conducted.
