Shred for bread to help open Chance Shelter in Surprise

Chance Shelter is having a fundraiser this month for its new building in Surprise.

The public is invited to bring all outdated sensitive and personal files to Toyota of Surprise, 13543 N. Autoshow Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17 (or until the truck is full). The cost is donations only, which are tax deductable.

Toyota of Surprise is donating the cost of the truck to help Chance Shelter raise funds for the building. Chance Shelter is a no-kill, nonprofit to help animals in crisis situations.

North Copper Canyon developers zoned a 35-acre parcel for a buffer around a seven-acre future Chance Shelter parcel. The shelter's home will be south of Deer Valley Road.
