Shadow Ridge’s Mills smashes way to tennis title

Shadow Ridge sophomore Kai Mills won the Arizona Interscholastic Association Division I boys tennis individual state championship after a 6-4, 6-4 win against Lance Urlab of Phoenix Desert Vista.
Mills is a sophomore and was ranked second overall going into the tournament and defeated the defending state champion for the championship.
Mills did not lose a set in five tournament matches. It was his first season of high school tennis
Kai is the second state tennis champion in Shadow’s history joining Carlos Hassey who earned the honor in 2017 and 2015.
