Several Surprise board, commissions have needs for volunteers

The city of Surprise has several openings for various committees and commissions and wants resident volunteers.

Applications are being accepted for the city Audit Committee, the Judicial Selection Advisory Commission, the Library Advisory Commission, the Board of Trustees, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission and the Veterans, Disability and Human Services Commission.

Most of them have one vacancy, excpet for the Library and Parks and Recreation boards, which both have three openings.

The terms for all positions end June 30, 2029, except for the Audit Committee, which goes until the end of June 2027.

Only Surprise residents can serve on a board or commission.

Applications are at surpriseaz.gov/Boards and must be completed by Friday, June 27.

Email applicationsto clerk@surpriseaz.gov or mail or hand-deliver a hard copy to Surprise City Hall, City Clerk’s Office.

The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.

Applications will be kept on file for four years for consideration of future vacancies.
