In honor of Veteran’s Day, the Rotary Club of Surprise is hosting a Military Appreciation Ceremony honoring veterans from all branches of the military.
The event will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the Colonnade senior living community in the La Vita Room, 19116 N Colonnade Way. Following a social time, the formal program starts at 6:30.
All attending are encouraged to wear service dress if having served in the US military.
The ceremony will include a special presentation from the rotary to The Colonnade of a new U.S. Space Force flag. A representative from Luke Air Force Base will also speak about the history and current developments at the base.
There will also be a visual presentation of the service and charity projects the Rotary Club has performed in recent few years. The club welcomes requests for membership consideration. Light snacks and refreshments will be available.

“We are excited to honor our veterans in such a special way and to have the opportunity to thank the Colonnade for their generous support of our club over the years” said Pamela Kohnen, the event committee chair with the Rotary Club of Surprise. “We are celebrating the selfless contributions made by our veterans to secure our freedom and honoring the fact these heroes and their families epitomize the Rotary International motto of “Service Above Self.”
