'Reverse parade' ready to start in Surprise
Contest created for outdoor displays

Local businesses and organizations are pulling together to put together a “Reverse Parade” in Surprise for the Independence Day holiday.
Each participant will create an outdoor display with a patriotic theme. The displays will be outdoors and visible from a car to allow people to participate while social distancing.
A group of judges will be selected to determine the most creative and patriotic display.
The winner will win a one year free premium listing on the Local Biz – Surprise, AZ directory with an identification badge that states “Best of Surprise."
They will receive spotlight on the directory and Local Biz social media page and special recognition during donation ceremony of the entry fees to the VFW.
The entry fee for the contest will be donated to Veterans of Foreign War Post 285, Nicky D. Bacon Memorial Post.
It is currently working towards getting its own building to better support Veterans and the community. A VFW post is great for the communities they serve as they often offer many activities encourage community involvement and fun.
Their building will include offices for veterans support offices to support veterans in the area and a meeting/dance hall that will be available for public reservation.
