Posted

Surprise residents looking to prune their landscape or clean out the garage, now is the perfect time.

Residents can take advantage of the Residential Waste Cleanup Event on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Surprise residents can drop off up to 2,000 pounds of non-hazardous, residential waste free-of-charge at the Northwest Regional Landfill, 19401 W. Deer Valley Road, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a limit of one load per household.

Acceptable items include lawn waste and other household refuse.

Participants will be required to show proof of Surprise residency, via a driver's license and utility bill showing the same home address.

Hazardous waste items will not be accepted during this event.

Items such as paint, batteries, pesticides, automotive fluids and pool chemicals will be collected during the city's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event, Sept. 22 to Oct. 1, by appointment only.
