Pavement work restricts 163rd Ave.

Completion in north Surprise expected by Oct. 28

Motorists can expect north and southbound lane restrictions on 163rd Avenue between Happy Valley Road and Grand Avenue for mill and overlay work to preserve the pavement.

The work began Sept. 28 at Happy Valley and continues from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Crews plan to switch to overnight hours when the work nears the intersection with the Sante Fe railroad.

Utility adjustments are planned through Friday, Oct. 2.

Milling will be done Monday, Oct. 5 through Friday, Oct. 9. The following week will be for paving.

Finally, striping of the street will end the work from Thursday, Oct. 22 through Wednesday, Oct. 28, weather permitting.

Speed limits are reduced in the area durng the work.
