During its June board meeting, the Paradise Schools governing board named Darcy Weisner executive director of the Surprise-based charter school district.
Weisner started work as the new executive director on July 6. He replaces Patrick Schrader, who stepped down from his position at the end of June.
Schrader served as executive director at Paradise Schools for 19 years and the board thanks him for his service.
Weisner will be responsible for developing and implementing district-level state and federal programs. He has more than 40 years of experience in education and 21 years as a classroom teacher and coach.
Weisner has served at every leadership level in various roles during the last nineteen years. Most recently, Weisenr served as the superintendent of the ESD 123 regional service center in the southeastern part of the state of Washington. There are 23 school districts in the region he served.
“I have appreciated the eight years at the Educational Service District 123, serving as the superintendent,” Weisner said. “It has been a wonderful experience working with such dedicated professionals. My wife and I are excited about the new opportunity.”
