OUAZ to limit spectators at home games

Only students, faculty, staff allowed into venues

Posted

With basketball season underway and home games quickly approaching, OUAZ announced that spectators for home athletics events will be limited to current OUAZ students, faculty and staff with restricted capacity.

This restriction applies to all home athletic contests on the OUAZ campus. The only fans permitted into game venues will be from the OUAZ campus community defined as those who hold a valid OUAZ identification card.

The following protocols will be implemented to minimize the risk and potential exposure of COVID-19 for the OUAZ campus community including student-athletes, faculty, staff, visiting teams, event staff, and spectators.

All spectators will be required to sit in the designated seating area and asked to follow social distancing guidelines. Face masks that cover both the nose and mouth also will be required while inside the facility.

To help with managing these guidelines, OUAZ has partnered with Hometown Ticketing as the digital ticket partner of OUAZ Athletics. This partnership allows OUAZ the ability to offer a contactless entry into Faith Arena while limiting access to those with a valid game ticket.

Current OUAZ students, faculty and staff who wish to attend a Spirit home event this fall will be required to reserve a digital ticket from the online ticket site before arriving at the event. Upon arriving at the facility, spectators will then need to pass the safety screening and present both their digital game ticket and current campus ID for entry to the facility.

Tickets for OUAZ home games will be made available for the university campus community starting one week before the scheduled game and they will remain available until 24 hours before the game’s scheduled start time.

This policy covers all home athletics events until further notice and will routinely be reviewed and adjusted for the safety of our student-athletes.
