The McDonald’s restaurant at Litchfield and Waddell roads in Surprise raised more than $4,805 for local schools during its annual McTeacher’s Night Challenge in February.
The McTeacher’s Night was an in-restaurant, drive through and mobile ordering event with a portion of the sales during the two-hour period benefiting each school.
Seven elementary schools participated in the Litchfield/Waddell McTeacher’s Night Challenge including: Legacy Traditional-Surprise campus, Arizona Charter Academy, Thompson Ranch, West Point, Ashton Ranch, Sonoran Heights and Surprise Elementary.
Legacy Traditional School-Surprise campus placed first in the McTeacher’s Night Challenge receiving an additional $500 donation for a total of $1,140. Arizona Charter Academy and Ashton Ranch Middle School tied for second each receiving an additional $250 donation for a total of $865.
McDonald’s owner/operator Chris Carney presented a check to Legacy Traditional-Surprise staff members in recognition of their win.
“We were delighted to host these fundraising opportunities with in-restaurant, drive thru and mobile ordering to help our local schools,” stated Carney in a news release. “Our Litchfield and Waddell McDonald’s takes great pride in giving back to the Surprise community.”
