The city of Surprise is hosting free art tours to connect community members, artists and cultural organizations and to highlight the integral role art plays in the community.

The next tour is of the Surprise Community Park from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

On this tour participants will explore public art outside the park.

Teaching artist Rae Wilson will guide participants to create their own sketches, taking notice of the art and creativity all around in a fun, low-stress, outdoor, judgement-free zone.

This event is for all ages and skill levels. No prior experience is necessary to participate in this sketching tour, and sketchbooks and pencils will be provided.

Art tours are educational opportunities for the public to learn  about art in Surprise by touring the city’s public art collection and visiting local studios and galleries.
