Never too early to plan New Year's Eve blues music

Rockin’ the Blues (formerly The John Leo Group), featuring Surprise resident Mr. Leo on harmonica and vocals, Sun City residents Guy Dobbins and Larry Kubyiack, and Anthem resident Scott Severtson, are already prepping to celebrate New Year’s.

The combo performs 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 in a pre-New Year’s Eve bash at Birt’s Bistro, 16752 N. Greasewood St., Surprise. $5 cover charge, and reservations required by calling 623-584-0065.

Following that is a performance at a New Year’s Eve Party hosted by the Classic Rock Dance Club of Sun City West 7-11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 at Bell Social Halls 1 and 2, 16820 N. 99th Ave., in Sun City. $10 for members, $15 for non-members. This is a “bring your own” beverages and snacks event, and includes $300 in prize drawings. Call Donna at 623-628-4401.
