Networking group hosting city candidates for conversation

Locals want views on business climate in Surprise

Epic Networking Series, a business group founded by locals Raymond Grim, Greg Garcia and Cassandra Salamone, is hosting a series of conversations with Surprise City Council candidates over the next few weeks.

Leading up to the Aug. 4 city primary election, the group plans to interview each candidates for 20 to 30 minutes, streamed live on the Facebook page of the group.

A news release from the group said "questions will be pertaining to qualifications, personal history, support of local businesses, plans for Surprise, and how to accomplish them."

So far, five of the eight officially qualified candidates have committed to appear, starting with District 2 challenger Wendell Fountain at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24.

Others scheduled to appear, include:

  • Thursday, June 25 — Alyson Cline, District 2
  • Wednesday, July 8 — Jack Hastings, District 5
  • Thursday, July 9 — Patrick Duffy, District 3
  • Wednesday, July 15 — David Sanders, District 5

All interviews start at 6 p.m.
