More closures coming on roads in Surprise

SPECIAL TO THE INDEPENDENT
The City of Surprise has a series of dates set for work to improve several roadways that will require road closures through early 2020.
Here are the following projects on the books:
• Cactus Road — 175th Avenue to Cotton Lane.
Cactus Road will be closed between 175th Avenue and Cotton Lane through Friday, Jan. 24.
• Cactus Road — Cotton Lane to Auto Show Avenue.
Cactus Road will be closed between Cotton Lane and Auto Show Avenue from Monday, Jan. 6 to Jan. 24.
• Cotton Lane — Just south of Waddell Road to just north of Peoria Avenue.
Cotton Lane will be closed to just south of Waddell Road to just north of Peoria Avenue beginning Monday, Jan. 13 to Jan. 24.
Access will be maintained for businesses and homes along the roadway.
Here are a pair of updates on current closures:
• Sarival Avenue — Cactus Road to Hearn Road.
Sarival Avenue will be closed from Cactus Road to Hearn Road through March for road improvement work. Sarival Avenue will be open to local traffic only between Greenway and Hearn roads.
• Waddell Road — Loop 303 to Legacy Park Boulevard.
Waddell Road will now be closed between the Loop 303 and Legacy Park Boulevard through March.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained during the road improvement projects.
Motorists are reminded to be mindful of detours and plan for additional commute time during the road closures.
