Month starts at WHAM with pair of kids programs

WHAM Art Center, 16560 N. Dysart Road in Surprise, starts its August art classes with:

• TeenWHAM art club meetings are for open art projects in preparation for contests, events, community art project pieces.

The next meeting is Aug. 4 and features a daily art challenge, birthday recognition and event announcements.

• Kids art classes for ages 5-7 are designed to help create art in children’s physical, social, cognitive, emotional, imagination and experimentation development.

Each class we will be concentrating on drawing techniques, most drawings will be able to be completed.

The Aug. 5 class, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., is about triceratops and more dinosaurs.

• WHAM Kids First Saturday of the month Arts & Crafts (ages 8 to 12) An Apples for Art Program participates in small arts & crafts projects, with a different medium each month.

The class from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 7 is about summer birds and floral art.
All supplies are provided. A $5 registration fee is required per child, thanks to Sponsorships, Donations and Volunteers for the WHAM Kids Art Programs. It is $10 for non-members.
