Monsoon star Davis makes national ESPNW 100 for 2021

Posted

Valley Vista forward Marisa Davis earned the No. 76 ranking in the ESPNW list of the national top 100 high school basketball players in the class of 2021.

Davis is one of four Arizona seniors in the top 100, along with AZ Compass Prep players Kiya Dorroh (47th) and Madison Conner (71st) and PHH Prep player Jess Finney (94th).

In August, Davis committed to play for the University of Washington after a coaching change at Duke caused her to reopen her recruitment.

She and her family decided it would be good to head home for her senior season of high school. Davis planned to transfer but technically never enrolled at Compass Prep in Chandler, and she will spend her senior season trying to lead Valley Vista girls basketball to a fourth 6A state title in five seasons.

She was the state 6A Conference player of the year last season.
