Memorial Day to bring Surprise closures, delayed trash pickup

The city of Surprise administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 29 for the Memorial Day holiday, and library and trash collection schedules will be modified.

Memorial Day to bring Surprise closures, delayed trash pickup

The city of Surprise administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 29, for the Memorial Day holiday, and library and trash collection schedules will be modified.

City of Surprise trash customers only are reminded trash collection that week  will be postponed by one day. There will be no service on Monday. Collection will resume on Tuesday, May 30.

Note that not all Surprise residents are city of Surprise sanitation customers and may not experience a change in pickup service. Check with the service provider.

All three Surprise libraries will have modified hours for the holiday. Northwest Regional and Asante Libraries will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hollyhock will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The following Parks & Recreation programs and activities will still take place: 60/90 baseball practices for 13- to 15-year-olds.

Tennis will be open 6:30 to 11 a.m.

Both city pools will also be open. Surprise Aquatic Center from 12 to 6 pm. and Hollyhock Community Pool from 12 to 4 p.m.
