Letters: Sanders should make way for Hastings

Posted

Pam Griisser wrote that she thought it was wrong that Jack Hastings asked David Sanders to step down because Sanders should finish out his term. Maybe she does not realize that is the entire point: This is not Sanders’ term.

He was never elected; he was appointed, and Hastings was elected in a landslide, in fact. So, yes, Sanders should step down and let the councilman that was elected by the people get to work.

On the Dysart Unified School District override issue, I would hope and suggest that every single member of the Dysart [governing board] be dumped when they next come up for reelection as they obviously think they are smarter than the rest of us idiots and we would never notice that we did in fact already rejected this override less than a year ago.

Apparently they just think it is OK to keep putting this measure on the ballot wasting more and more funds that they should be using on students vice wasting our and more importantly their time on this already rejected measure.

What they need to be doing is finding ways to better utilize the funds they have as like all bureaucratic entities they are bloated with fat and need a good trimming like how about getting rid of all of these four or five assistant superintendents you have making six figures and replace them with $70K a year department heads? There only needs to be one superintendent and he does not need four or five assistants.

I am sure there are about 100 other ways this school district could reduce wasteful spending. All you need to do is to look for them vice begging the taxpayers year after year for more funding.
