Letters: Sanders excites reader not in his district

Posted

Although I do not live in District 5, I have lived in districts 4, 3, and now presently in 2. I moved to Arizona exactly 42 years ago to date.

My career started here after getting out of the Marine Corps and brought my family to Scottsdale. I then moved to Surprise when the traffic got so bad you thought you were in a city of one million.

When I first moved to Surprise in 2000 we settled in a house in the Roseview area until our house, being built in Rancho Gabriela, was complete. We then moved to Bell Ranch and finally here in District 2 in Sun City Grand.

I have been involved in the community for a long time worked with a lot of the City Council and supported the Citizen Patrol and CHAPs in S.C.G.

I have only supported three councilmembers in that time — first being District 3 Councilman John Williams to help us get much completed sidewalks and lights along Reems Road leading north to the Kohls store. After ending in the S.C.G. area I worked with Jim and Nancy Hayden on traffic problems and speed in our area. Then I supported Mayor Skip Hall, who I think has been exceptional so far in his category as mayor.

Now I find reaching out and supporting another person for City Council, Mr. David Sanders. As a father, I have watched how he supports his family with much love and respect that is deserving as a father. I also got involved with the Veteran, Disability and Human Services Commission, where I have had a real chance to interact with Councilman Sanders.

No finer a politician, no finer a father, and no finer a person. I am supporting David because of who he is, not what he is. I hope I can continue to support all the councilman in our fine city and hope we continued building a better tomorrow and a wonderful today.

The City of Surprise continues growth and support, of whom we are as voters, and remember what we had in the past and you will find out we are better off today than we were in the past administrations.

I have seen the work David Sanders has put into his district, so on that request, you all need to support that growth and we need to keep our councilman in the position at least twice to evaluate their performance and maximize their ability to be successful for us the voters.

I support David Sanders. Will you join me?
