Letters: Police support keeping DUSD override tax in place

The Surprise Police Employees Association represents the sworn and civilian employees of your Surprise Police Department and we support the Dysart Unified School District override.

As employees of your Surprise Police Department, we continuously strive to make Surprise one of the safest cities in Arizona. We are committed to providing a desirable and safe city to raise a family, grow a business, visit a spring training game or vacation. We believe in working together with the citizens of Surprise to make our community as strong and thriving as possible.

For this reason, we are supporting the Dysart override in the upcoming November election. Quality education is crucial in maintaining our community and our quality of life. Our children and students are the future leaders of our community. Quality schools will provide our children with the education, foundation, and training necessary to become stellar leaders and maintain the highest quality of life in Surprise.

In November, a “yes” vote will help the Dysart School District retain its extraordinary teachers, maintain smaller class sizes, continue to support academic programs for math and reading, provide full day kindergarten and continue to support arts and athletics programs.
