Letters: It’s time to pay it back to today’s students

We are retired. Our kids are grown. So, you might say we don’t have a dog in this fight [for the Dysart Unified School District override], but we most certainly do, and so do our friends and neighbors who chose to live in one of the greatest communities in the country.

When we were kids, an investment was made in us. Our neighborhood public schools gave us the education and opportunity to succeed, and we made the most of it. Now we are proud to help provide the next generation like our grandkids with the same opportunity.

The Dysart School District is growing and needs more resources to keep excellent teachers from leaving to other professions. As Republicans, we understand that kids need classrooms with qualified teachers and campuses that are secure and safe. An investment in a “yes” vote on Nov 3 makes the community we all love stronger, secures our property values and will help secure that same investment that was made for us.

Pay it forward and vote “yes” for Dysart.
