Letters: Father of 3 saying 'yes' to override

Posted

With three daughters who are products of Dysart schools, I am proud to support the Dysart override. I have seen firsthand what a quality education Dysart provides and as each one graduates and moves on to higher education opportunities, I know I made the right choice by choosing Dysart.

By supporting schools in our community, we not only show commitment to education, but also increase our ability to train competitive workforces and attract new businesses. Surprise has been fortunate to grow by leaps and bounds over the past 20 years and that is thanks, in part, to having the best schools in the West Valley.

Great schools help us grow a great community, maintain property values, and protect our investments. Not only does supporting the Dysart override help us as a city, it helps our neighbors because the Dysart district is the largest employer in our area. Why would we want to take jobs away from our neighbors? Moreover, the override doesn’t increase our property taxes as it’s a continuation of what’s already in place.

Join my wife and I in voting “yes” for the Dysart override and continue the 100-year legacy of success.

Editor’s Note: Mr. Judd is the vice mayor of Surprise.
