Letters: DEF gives its reasons for override passage

Posted

Dysart Education Foundation (DEF) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1985 to support student learning in the Dysart School District.

In addition to funding student scholarships and offering grants to innovative teachers, DEF’s intent is to engage the community in supporting public education by stimulating community involvement.

DEF is pleased to endorse and actively support the current bond and override request.

Over the years, we have experienced the negative results of failed overrides, as well as the positive difference they can make when they pass. Facilities, programs and staff that are taken for granted in other states are not available to our students when an already insufficient budget is stretched even further.

Good schools are essential both to the well-being of individual students and to the civic health of our community. Strong public schools enhance real estate values and attract economic development. They reflect the pride we take in our community.

With your help our teachers will have the tools they need to teach our children. Thank you for voting “yes” for Dysart.
