Leonard picked to lead Dysart governing board
School board votes in new officers

The Dysart Unified School District governing board led the Jan. 8 meeting with the nomination and vote of new officers.
Former president Christine A.K. Pritchard handed the reins over to new president Jay Leonard. He was nominated by Traci Sawyer-Sinkbeil who said after serving for three years on the board he has bridged gaps.
Mr. Leonard said as a business owner in the community with more than 100 employees he has a good foundation for what people need and want and has learned a lot and established great long-lasting relationships. He said he stands for teachers and wants to make sure Dysart is the best it can be, including fiscal responsibility.
Dawn Densmore was nominated for presidents as well, by Ms. Pritchard for her potential to create meaningful relationships between the district and community with her involvement in parent groups to help push the district forward.
Ultimately, she was nominated for clerk of the board.
