LD 29 Democrats to tackle electoral college debate in Surprise

Posted

The electoral college will be the topic of the night when Tina Mollica addresses the LD 29 Dems at its next monthly meeting.

The meeting is set for 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16 at the Holiday Inn Express, 16540 N. Bullard Ave.

Mollica is co-president of the Northwest Chapter of the League of Women Voters, a non-partisan group that believes the president should be elected by popular vote rather than the electoral college.

Carly Gadberry, an organizer with Healthcare Rising, will also speak to the group. She will be soliciting ideas on the next health care issue they’d like to see Arizona voters address.

Healthcare Rising Arizona, made up of everyday Arizonans, is part of a coalition that helped enshrine abortion protections into the Arizona Constitution in 2024. In 2022, the group played a crucial role in capping medical debt interest rates in the state.
