Kellis named honorary commander by Luke Air Force Base
Posted
Dysart Unified School District Superintendent Quinn Kellis was recently appointed as a member of the Honorary Commander Program, which recognizes outstanding leaders and is designed to help foster understanding and support between the Luke Air Force Base Arizona-56th Fighter Wing and the community.
As part of that honor Kellis had the opportunity to take a ride in an F-16 earlier this month.
In addition to participating in a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Kellis got to learn first hand how military pilots train to ensure combat readiness.
Dysart Unified School District serves nearly 24,000 pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students in the Northwest Phoenix Metropolitan area.
This includes Luke Elementary School, just outside the base in Glendale.
