Imagine Prep Surprise honors Hulstrom Scholar

Imagine Prep Surprise student William Drake King was awarded the first Thomas “Tim” Hulstrom Memorial Scholarship at the 2021 high school graduation ceremony May 26.
Thomas “Tim” Hulstrom died Sept. 22, 2020, after an educational career spanning more than 55 years in both Michigan and Arizona.
His experiences span across the K-12 system and include teaching, coaching, and administrating. As a founding faculty member of Imagine Prep Surprise, Hulstrom’s influence lives on in the hearts and minds of his students and colleagues as well as the traditions he has helped to establish at Imagine Prep Surprise.
Imagine Prep introduced the Thomas “Tim” Hulstrom Memorial Scholarship last fall.
Student eligibility requirements include:
• Must have attended Imagine Prep High School all four years.
• Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Must have documented participation in student government, community service clubs/organizations, or outside volunteer hours.
• Must write 500 word written essay explaining the importance of community.
Imagine Prep Surprise is a charter school for students in grades 6-12 at 14850 N. 156th Ave.
