As the numbers of those living with the Alzheimer’s disease continues to rise, in-home care provider Home Instead is urging community members to reduce their risk, recognize the signs and reimagine what living with Alzheimer’s can look like.
Kicking off during World Alzheimer’s Month (September), and throughout October, Home Instead offices in the Phoenix area will be hosting local events that will help drive understanding of Alzheimer’s and other dementias and offer actions people can take against the disease.
The Surprise Home Instead at 15003 W. Bell Road, Suite 150, has one lined up at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
It will be an educational event with resources and activities to engage those with dementia to be provided.
Alzheimer’s disease affects more than six million Americans, and the number is expected to double by 2050.
