The Playhouse at Sunflower RV Resort, 16501 N. El Mirage Road, Surprise will highlight its 10th year by presenting the classic musical “Guys & Dolls” that will feature a cast of more than 50 performers that act, sing, and dance with the music of a live band.

Four performances are planned beginning with a 3 p.m. matinee Sunday, March 8. Follow-up performances take place 7 p.m. March 9, 10 and 11.

All shows take place in the ballroom at Sunflower, which has 352 reserved seats for the play. Ample parking is available.

“Guys & Dolls” is an oddball, romantic comedy that begins on a bustling street in New York City, a Sunflower news release states of the storyline. It deals with the relationships between gamblers, missionaries and performers. The story takes audiences from the heart of Time Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and then back into the sewers of New York City. It ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950.

The Sunflower cast features residents who performed professionally during their working years, including veteran actors, music teachers, choir singers and dance instructors.

Tickets are $14 for non-resort residents and guests and are available on-line at cal-am.com. Click on concert and event ticket info and select the Sunflower/Surprise location.
