Grand drama club goes on ‘Night Watch’ in Surprise

The Grand Drama and Comedy Club begins its 2023-24 season with the suspense thriller production “Night Watch,” written by American author Lucille Fletcher.

The action begins with Elaine Wheeler seeing dead bodies in a window across from her Manhattan townhome. No one believes her, not even her husband. Is she really seeing these bodies or is she on the verge of a nervous breakdown?

Her attempts to convince everyone and the involvement of a nosy maid, an inquisitive and rather sinister neighbor and Elaine’s old friend and houseguest, all contribute to the deepening suspense and mystery of the play, as it draws toward its climax.

This thriller builds steadily in menace and suspense until the final, unexpected twist ending.

Performances are set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, Friday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 21, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Sonoran Plaza Main Stage in The Grand Sonoran theater, 19753 N. Remington Drive.

Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. A cash bar opens one hour before showtime.

Reserved seat tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased online at granddrama.com, livegrandaz.com or in person at The Grand activities desk.

The desk is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Tickets may also be available at the door 30 minutes before showtime.
