WHAM Art Center in Surprise invites the community to join its annual fundraiser, “Swing Fore The ARTs,” to champion transformative art programs that make an impact across the West Valley.
This is WHAM’s only fundraiser this year, and local support is crucial in sustaining and expanding vital art programs. The event is from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at Topgolf Glendale, 6101 N. 99th Ave., Glendale.
A whole afternoon of fun for a cause includes two hours of unlimited gollf, food and refreshments, interactive art activities, silent auctions prizes and trophies & Bragging Rights.
Every swing helps fund WHAM’s programs, including:
- Veteran art therapy programs – Providing a healing outlet for veterans and first responders.
- Special needs art classes – Helping individuals with special needs and memory care discover their creative potential.
- Teen art mentorships – Empowering at-risk teens to explore and express themselves through art.
- Mobile art outreach – Bringing creativity to underserved communities.
This year, WHAM also is hosting an online silent auction. Beginning April 19, the public can bid on trips, prizes, and artwork at this web page with the auction closing on April 28—no need to attend to participate.
By supporting this event, donors are directly funding programs that foster healing, connection, and creativity in the lives of those who need it most. Art has the power to help veterans cope with PTSD and give individuals with special needs a voice to express themselves.

Last year’s champions, Surprise Fire and Medical and Buckeye Mayor Orsborn, set the bar high—but this year, the trophies could go to another group. Gather a team of six for $750, or register individually for $125 to compete for fun prizes and bragging rights.
