One Lev is a musical group with an international flavor, whose musicians and vocalists declare their main purpose is to bring honor and blessing to Elohim (God). The musical group is made up of two Israelis and one Russian. One Lev in Hebrew means “One Heart,” and the word “Lev” in Russian means “Lion.” According to the group’s leader, they strive through their music to honor the King who is the Lion of Judah.
Group members include drummer Ilan Gorny, born and raised in Haifa, Israel, and the son of Romanian Holocaust survivors. Gorny, the only native Israeli of the group, brings a Jewish/Mediterranean influence and flavor to their music. His wife, Lori Kate Lowenhar, a dual citizen of America and Israel, plays the clarinet, flute, saxophone and piano.
Mikhail Bogdanov Monkevich, a guitarist and accomplished composer from St. Petersburg, Russia, brings yet another take on musical worship performed by the group.
One Lev’s songs could be described as passionate worship with a Middle Eastern vibe. European and American influence also help create a diversity of sound with soul, gospel, light blues, and bossa-nova added to the mix.
One Lev continues to bring their unique sound of Israeli worship to audiences across the world, including hundreds of performances in America, England, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Czech-Republic and Finland.
Everyone is invited to attend this afternoon of international music. A love offering will be taken.
