With the top-rated schools in the area, the “A”-rated Dysart Unified School District is offering the community a choice in school enrollment.
Dysart will begin accepting open enrollment applications for the 2025-2026 school year on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Dysart.org/OE.
Parents or guardians who would like their child to attend a school outside of their residential attendance boundary for the 2025-2026 school year, must apply for open enrollment online at Dysart.org/OE.
Dysart schools are among the best in the state of Arizona, and the district is home to the No. 7 (Freedom Traditional Academy) and No. 20 (Canyon Ridge School) K-8 schools in Arizona, and a National Blue Ribbon School (Shadow Ridge High School).
Overall, 100% of Dysart schools are “A”- or “B”-rated based on state accountability labels, many of which out-rank our local counterparts.
Additionally, Freedom Traditional Academy has the highest test scores of any school in the cities of Surprise and El Mirage.
Dysart Schools have been recognized both nationally and internationally with AdvancED Accreditation, and are dedicated to serving the needs of all children with high quality academic coursework, before- and afterschool programs, and services for the entire community.
Open enrollment allows parents the opportunity to request that their children attend a Dysart school outside of their residential boundary area.
This includes all Dysart elementary schools, middle schools, Freedom Traditional Academy, and high schools. Information about Dysart Schools academics, arts and athletic programs can be found at Dysart.org.
Parents whose students are currently open enrolled at the school of their choice will not need to reapply. The priority open enrollment period ends Jan. 6. After this priority period, submitted applications will continue to be accepted and will be reviewed on a monthly basis as capacity becomes available.
Parents needing access to a computer to complete the open enrollment application may visit any district school or the front lobby of the Dysart District Office at 15802 N. Parkview Place, during regular business hours.
