Dysart presents workshop on post-secondary success

Session Nov. 1 at Willow Canyon

Posted

Parents, grandparents and/or guardians involved in a high schooler’s education are invited to a Planning for Post-Secondary Success Workshop at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Willow Canyon High School, 17901 W. Lundberg St.

Navigating the high school experience is a different ballgame than it was when previous generations were kids and Dysart Schools wants to make sure that all guardians are equipped to help DUSD students be successful. Consider joining the workshop designed specifically for those involved in raising and educating a Dysart student.

In this session, the district’s lead counselor will be providing information to parents, grandparents and guardians about planning for post-secondary success. Not all students are college bound and there are many options for students to be successful after high school. This session will explore post secondary options available to students.

• An upcoming session on Course Selection for future freshmen will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 29. In this session the Willow Canyon counselors will be presenting information to the families of future freshman about how to choose classes, how credits and graduation requirements work and navigating high school life.

A focus of this session will be how a meaningful adult in a child’s life can help them understand the importance of being involved during high school.
