Dysart Unified School District offers the community a choice in school enrollment.

Dysart will begin accepting open enrollment applications for the 2023-24 school year on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Parents or guardians who would like their child to attend a school outside of their residential attendance boundary for the 2023-24 school year, must apply for open enrollment online at Dysart.org/OE.

Dysart schools are well rated in the most recent accountability labels issued, and is home to the No. 8 K-8 school in Arizona (Freedom Traditional Academy), three top 100 K-8 schools and two top 50 high schools in Arizona.

Overall, the district has 12 “A” rated and 10 “B” rated schools based on state accountability labels. Additionally, Freedom Traditional Academy has the highest test scores of any school in the cities of Surprise and El Mirage.

Dysart Schools have been recognized both nationally and internationally with AdvancED Accreditation, and are dedicated to serving the needs of all children with quality academic coursework, before-and after-school programs and services for the entire community.

Open enrollment allows parents the opportunity to request that their children attend a Dysart school outside of their residential boundary area. This includes all Dysart K-8 and K-4 elementary schools, 5-8th grade middle schools, Freedom Traditional Academy, and high schools.

Information about Dysart Schools academics, arts and athletic programs can be found at Dysart.org.

Open enrollment applications can be submitted online at Dysart.org/OE.
Parents whose students are open enrolled at the school of their choice will not need to reapply. The priority open enrollment period ends Jan. 8, 2023.

After this priority period, submitted applications will continue to be accepted and will be reviewed on a monthly basis as capacity becomes available. Parents needing access to a computer to complete the open enrollment application may visit any district school or the front lobby of the district office, 15802 N. Parkview Place, Surprise, during regular business hours.
