The latest major basketball transfer in the area this summer is the first to stay in Surprise.
On June 11, Paradise Honors girls basketball coach Parrish Tatum announced on Twitter that Talia Dial, a 5-9 guard who starred for Dysart in her first two years, has transferred in and will play for the Panthers in her junior season.
Dial averaged 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game for the 15-13 Demons in 2019-20. She was the 4A Black Canyon Region player of the year.
In her freshman year, Dial debuted with 16.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2 steals per contest. The Demons also won the Black Canyon Region title that year.
Paradise Honors will move up to 4A this year. The Panthers went 15-10 in 3A last year, losing in the first round of the playoffs, and returns two of his top three scorers.
Dial will join a lineup for the Panthers that includes returning senior guard Hallie Karren, junior center Scarlet Eberlein and junior wing Addison Sandusky.
