CVS adds COVID testing location in Sun City Grand

Company expands service by adding Surprise location

Posted

Surprise residents now have additional option to get a COVID-19 test.

The CVS Pharmacy at 19505 N. Sunrise Blvd. in Sun City Grand began hosting drive-thru testing Sept. 18.

It’s one of 2,000 new locations CVS announced last week it will be opening in the coming weeks and one of 10 new ones in Maricopa County.

CVS manages the largest number of independently run COVID-19 test sites in the country. The company expects to have more than 4,000 operating by mid-October.

“Since opening our first test site in March, we’ve been able to quickly adapt to the changing landscape in order to make it easier for people in the communities we serve to access testing,” COO Jon Roberts said in a news release. “We recognize the critical role testing plays in helping to manage the spread of the virus and are incredibly proud of how our teams have responded to this need while continuing to take care of our customers, clients and patients.”

There will be no cost for patients to receive a self-swab test.

However, patients must register in advance at CVS.com to schedule an appointment.

For minors, a parent or legal guardian must complete the online registration.

For patients 12 to 15 years old, a parent or legal guardian must accompany them for the test.

Most test results from specimens collected at CVS test sites across the country will be available within two to three days.
